This MSO Model is of the Aggressive Class as it was at Commissioning.

These models will be 24.5 inches in Length, Height is 12" (2.5" Base & pedestal not included in Height measurement), Width is at 5". Scale is 1:85m and are made entirely out of scratch. The wood being used is a kiln-dried Philippine mahogany wood for the hull and superstructure and non-corrosive materials on deck fittings. Model comes with a Philippine Mahogany base and brass pedestals.

All models after the prototype pictured below will come with wood decks and brass port holes.

Hull numbers and ships name at no extra cost. A 1"x4" brass plate name on model's wooden base, the ship's name, squadron, mission and even the name of the purchaser can be printed.

Cost of an MSO Model as she was commissioned is $550.00 + shipping, estimated $200.00 anywhere in the US. An additional $50.00 for an altered/modified bridge structure.

The model builder will produce models of the MSO in groups and therefore obtain optimum production efficiency and subsequently optimum cost efficiency - which will be passed on to you.

By producing in this way all individually handcrafted and including hull number and ship's name of choice at no extra cost.

We urge the customers to advise us of their interest so that we can reach our optimum number of orders and thus be able to supply this model at the price indicated.

Ordering information: MSO Model Order Form.

If you have any questions before placing your order please send your questions to MSOmodel@minesweep.org

If your interested in a case for your MSO model, the size should be 30 inches wide X 10 inches deep X 20 inches high.

The next group of photos will show the model in its Putty Primer stage, the wooden hull will be overcoated
with acrylic primer at about 1mm thick. The same process as the automobile is being finished.

The following photos the model is starting to take on a more distinctive shape.

Below are photos of the MSO Production Models in their first stage of development.

Here you can see them in their raw materials form, they still have the same configurations. Their distinctive appearance shall be seen on their second to third stages, which I will be sending in the next coming weeks.

Here you can see the hull being handcarved out of solid block of wood.

Hulls are lined up, wait each's turn for the next step of sanding for smooth contours.

Stacks, still in wood. Will go to the next step shortly, lacquer putty coating.

Some hulls are already in Putty Primer stage, so as the main structures.

Aft structure, where stacks would sit.

Portholes and bells are being carved out of real brass.

Whaleboats, made of non corrosive materials.

Floaters, being sealed of flaws for smooth finish. Screws on top, made of real brass. Propeller blades are not yet twisted.

Small fittings out of non-corrosive materials. Bitts, Chocks, hose valves and portholes.

Below are photos of the MSO Production Models in their second stage of development.

Most fittings were painted of their color, except the Hulls and superstructures.
The hull will be later painted with Hazegray base color and later still, the reddish brown waterline.

The superstructures wasn't yet painted as they will be customized for their ships desired appearance, this will be on the later stage of the building process.

We were slowed by the customization of the superstructure, but we are surely getting it done. The idea of scraping the deck to simulate wood planking is quite a task, but look at the result.

Here you can see the hull numbers being in place to recognize each owns ship.

We apologize for the delay, we underestimated the superstructure building. After this, we will be on a faster pace of production as most of the fittings are complete and painted. Will just then attach in place.
